Daedong Middle School is a prestigious baseball team that has produced numerous baseball stars including Lee Dae-ho, Jang Won-joon (retired), Jung Woo-ram (former Hanwha Eagles), Seo Jin-yong (SSG), and Kim Tae-gun (KIA). Due to the lack of players, the Korean team is on the verge of disbanding, let alone participating in normal games.

In response, Chae decided to take the helm to revive his alma mater's baseball team, which is in crisis. He will not be paid until Daedongjung is normalized.

"Honestly, it wasn't an easy decision to make," Chae said. "However, I couldn't ignore the news when I heard that my alma mater, who raised my dream of becoming a professional baseball player, was on the verge of disbanding."

Chae Tae-in, who taught amateur players in Busan after retiring from active duty, expressed his desire to become a leader who puts more emphasis on process than results.

"How you learn in middle school is really important. I will focus on the players so that they can properly lay down the basics and maximize their strengths," he said. "As a student-athlete, I will keep the main text but encourage them not to be intimidated even if they make mistakes on the ground."

"Compelling guidance is nothing but labor. We need to acknowledge the players' independent thinking and make them try what they thought, and let them realize their own success and failure over and over again," Chae said. "If we do that, we will not only improve our skills but also naturally achieve victory."

Chae Tae-in, who is struggling to supply and demand players, said, "I will teach you well so that you can feel that playing baseball is fun and happy, so please send me a lot."

Meanwhile, Chae Tae-in made his professional debut in 2007 as a special overseas player and played for Samsung, Nexen, Lotte, and SK. He played in 1,241 games and recorded a batting average of 298 hits, 127 homers, 678 RBIs and 481 runs.
